Ortigia
Ortigia is very posh. An elegantly manicured quarter in Siracusa, actually an island within the city connected by a bridge. It’s not only unique but also very stylish, from the hotels to the shops and the bistrot, every single place in Ortigia is refined and classy. Just loved it 😊
Ragusa, ibla
Third baroque city in the baroque triangle. Possibly even more beautiful than the others. Stayed at a charming and very comfortable b&b right in front of the duomo. Enjoyed everything in ibla and most likely had the best granita and brioche so far
Modica
We went for the chocolate… 😋 BUT, loved the town. Both Modica alta and Modica bassa are lovely. The duomo is majestic and the city streets lined with shops are very beautiful to explore. The chocolate does not disappoint either 😊
Noto
Simply majestic, like a monumental Disneyland. Everything is designed to perfection in a triumph of baroque style buildings, elegant bars and restaurants. Amazing views of the city from church’s’ bell towers and palaces’ balconies, amongst ever changing colors of all the city buildings.
Marzamemi
Astonishing beach, cristal clear water and very nice beach club! After a few hours at the beach, had drinks in the touristic Harbor. Many very well curated cocktail bars, coffees and restaurants
Taormina
Visited castelmola, gorgeous hamlet near Taormina with sweeping views of the bay and a pittoresche little village-town. Messina
Took a ferry from Salerno to Messina. Found a delightful small hotel, cinema Apollo. Every room was named after a famous movie and perfectly furnished respecting the theme.
